Sail with Your Dreams

A ship at Harbor Square. Pen and watercolor on sketchbook with a touch of digital colors for the water and sky.

Go sail with your dreams.

I’ll be sailing across the sea, across the sky, across the vast land in pursuit of my dreams. I’ll be taking Harmony Thoughts into the next level. I’ll be filling it with love and paints and colors and lots more of Love.

I’ll be travelling with my mind. But I am not going to be taking in so much of what Logic Brain has to say. I will be listening more to my Artist Brain.

***
I will be in another hiatus– this time with posting arts and sharing things with you here– at least for a while whilst I focus on making baby steps on my plans for my dreams and allowing it to bloom. You can still keep in touch with what I do via twitter @harmonythoughts or you can email me at lis@harmonythoughts.com. I will be so ever happy to talk to you guys.

I’ll be back by April. April is a special month for Harmony Thoughts.

Until then let’s go forth and sail with our God-given dreams.

PS* Plugging: Do you blog about how to make a living from your creativity, how to succeed as a self-employed artist, or how to run your own arts and crafts business? If so, then please read this. The gist: In order to raise a collective awareness and gain a deeper insight into the community, Right Brain Rockstar and Artonomy are hosting The Starving Enterprising Artist Survey. The survey will be open to both professional and aspiring artists, so anyone who makes a living from their creative pursuits, or anyone who aspires to do so in future. Courage Wall

I have been feeling down in the drain lately. I took one week off from work which I aptly call Work Hiatus. The reason of it is that I need some time to think. To question. In my 4 years of existence under the corporate world I had never dared to question myself (more on step up) or to do something about my increasingly sad state of life. Doing what you love. Fighting for your dreams. Giving some things up. It’s not easy. It’s Difficult. Lonely. It’s a process.

Before entering into this hiatus thing I woke up one shiny morning and suddenly thought of courage wall. In our everyday rushed lives with all the problems and solutions bouncing in our minds sometimes all we need is something or someone to lean on.

For me courage wall encompasses all the positiveness of life that each one of us has already experienced in life. This wall is engraved with all the learning, hopelovecourage, healing, patiencehappiness and so much more. That in times of trials we can simply rely on this wall to keep us grounded. That wall regardless if we are aware of its existence or not is there to support us. It is there to hold us up and push us forward. It reminds us that we are not alone. It is where we can hold on to it to strengthen us for the day.

So I eagerly painted patches of watercolor for my courage wall. It’s not a steady structure (maybe it’s overused by me!) but it’s standing strong.

God who holds courage wall for us.

My courage wall is God.

God and I… we will sort this out together.

Everything is going to be okay.

Do you have your own courage wall? Who or what makes you strong? Share it on comments below to inspire everyone! I love to hear it.

Writing on the Wall

Have you ever written on the wall? I did. Somewhere in the crevices I draw and sometimes I write my name.

Who’s your national hero? Are you inspired by him or her while carrying out your dreams? I am.

I don’t know if I REALLY know who I am. Most of the time I struggle to be wholeheartedly ME. But I always pray that every time I am turning out into “WHO-AM-I?” I will stay CONNECTED with myself. Be MORE AWARE.

I love God so much. He’s part of my life. Without Him I am nothing. He’s the reason for my every thing.

Sometimes I want my drawings to be perfect. Then something like a “oopsie” moment might happen like the wrong splash of colors or the wrong stroke. But hey I remind myself that darling my drawing is A-OK! Stop being too hard on oneself.

All the hurt, pain, regret, anxiety, fear, guilt, past, sorrow, shame, negativity… Let it Go. It’s difficult, yes but slowly bring in the learning and positiveness and courage for that DREAM.

Welcome to my Sketchbook Project 2012: Writing on the Wall. Above are just some additional pages of my sketchbook. It has been an incredible and amazing journey of creating and brainstorming. It’s definitely a worthwhile first experience of getting my work out there.

The Wall is my sketchbook and the illustrations that are portrayed and the things that I pasted here  are personal to me. I am illustrating my life after all. If you want to see the other pages of my sketchbook feel free to browse my several previous posts here.
