Shhhh.. Listen to Me
I am giddy,
To tell you about my day.
You seem to listen,
Your eyes glazed over my face.
You listen to me.
You interrupt while I talk,
Then you talk and tell about your day,
I listen patiently,
And even laughs and nods.
You listen to me.
It’s my turn to talk,
You stare into space again,
Then you fake a nod and a laugh,
And proceed to play with your phone.
You listen to me.
Few listen while many talks,
Seems like people use their ears,
Not to listen but to hear,
Gossips and rumors from the other table.
You listen to me.
When you listen,
Look me in the eye,
Just when I look into yours when you talk,
Be active, not passive.
You listen to me.
No matter how uninteresting the topic is,
You should at least pretend to listen,
In such a way that you are listening,
You nod and ask occasional questions.
You listen to me.
Listen with your heart,
Listen with empathy,
Listen without forgetting,
But if you do, don’t hesitate to ask.
Listen = Silent

Your sketch is awesome. I am listening to you and your upcoming posts.
Thank you jonats. I know I am a little annoying with the listen to me… lols.. But I feel that it’s effective .. at least for the poem. Lols. Thanks!
Sounds like someone persistent to be heard. (Thinks back if I am like that sometimes;p)
Lols, just sometimes. This poem is more for people, not only for me, who wants to be heard or rather who wants others to listen for a change. Thanks for reading.
