Great Big Stitched Postcard Swap

I joined the 5th Great Big Stitched Postcard Swap hosted by Beth Nichols of Do What You Love.

The theme is Discover.

What a powerful word. All my life I have been discovering and re-discovering about who I am. To be myself. To be strong. To live with a purpose. To live for Him.
I am a child of God. That alone is enough to give breath and depth into my being.

As I create this painting I am also discovering what I can do. And I am amazed that I can do simple stitches.
As I create this painting I am re-discovering my wonderful hands that God has given me to create and to help other people.
As I create this painting I am re-discovering the wonderful world of failure. Because it is truly by failing that we learn not to give up on the dream that God has called us forth. To fail means that we have not failed to keep creating something. To fail means we walk hand in hand with fear and dance to the rhythm.

This is for you Birgitta Mörkeberg of Sweden. It’s a pleasure to have known you! I hope this piece inspires you as much as it has inspired me.

This piece is also for my country who remains standing strong despite the adversity that has struck us. This piece symbolizes teamwork and will power. I hope we have learned something.

  1. I’d heard about the heavy rains in the Philippines and will definitely keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Your collage is beautiful and inspiring.

  2. Hand symbols in artwork are so powerful. The symbol has such deep meaning. I love how you put such powerful words on each finger. Beautiful colors, beautiful work. Happy PPF

  3. This is a lovely piece of art, Elisa. Very meaningful. I have said a prayer for the people of the Philippines. It seems that this year beginning last December has been full of strange weather events, too much rain or too little. I wish I could take some of your extra water and help out the midwestern US states.

  4. I like the postcard, very creative and lots of textures. Lis, I hope the rain is not too terrible for you and your city. The weather has been crazy lately. Keep safe, good luck!

  5. Prayers to your country my dear! Beautiful postcard full of love and spirit!! Sorry for the sadness that has struck your world, my heart is with you!!

    Big hugs Giggles
