Painting Day 1

“Fish” watercolor painting by Elisa Choi

Today I officially start my commitment to paint something everyday for 30 days. Above is a wet on wet painting of 2 fishes on a crease paper. I am in awe at the beauty of watercolor. How the paint spreads in freedom upward or downward directions. There were mistakes though and as I realize there is no way to alter it I let it be.

I wasn’t feeling very well today and add to that the very hot and humid weather at Manila. Yet as I sat down and paint I feel better. Painting is a therapy. I am always drawn to painting. Painting always calls me forth.

I hope you enjoy this painting as much as I learn and enjoy doing it. Tomorrow then! Have a great day everyone!

  1. Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my blog. Glad to see you challenging yourself with a painting a day, too!

I think your fish look great. I think one of the wonderful things about watercolor is the way the paint tends to do its own thing. What’s a mistake, really?
